Brownell & Company was originally
founded in 1825 in Moodus, Connecticut
by Edward Brownell to supply twisted
linen and cotton fiber ropes, cords and
nets to commercial fisherman. Today,
the company operates on the same
site (the original mill is shown in the
background), but specializes in quality
archery products, helicopter cargo nets,
twine and cordage, and tennis nets.
